Russell Homestead's Velvet Ringer
"Velvet"
Velvet was born on April 17, 2020, to Nickel & Captain. She has two siblings - Curiosity & Snowflake. We debated between two names for her - Velvet because of how soft she is and Ringer because of the ring of white she has around her torso. We decided on Velvet Ringer, but Velvet for short. Velvet is going to be staying in our herd. Her mother, Nickel, was our first goat. The longer we have Nickel and the more we experience other Nubian goats, the more we realize what a gem we have in Nickel - healthy, large teats, excellent milk production, and easy kiddings. Velvet was Nickel's sixth kidding - the first born of these triplets. We had decided to keep a doeling from Nickel's fifth kidding, but that turned out to be twin boys. So, we are thrilled to keep Nickel's genetics in our herd with Velvet.
