Introducing Sheerah's 2021 Puppies

12/30/2020

This year, we celebrated Christmas we an eye turned to Sheerah, knowing that her due date was approaching.  We thought we might have a Christmas litter, but instead have a day-after Christmas litter.  We are feeling very blessed as Sheerah had an easy delivery of six healthy puppies.

If you followed any of our past litters, you know we have two naming traditions.  First, we honor God as the creator of life by naming one puppy a Biblical name.  Second, we have our five children (who go by the initials AJ, CJ, JJ, MJ, and EJ on the blog) name a puppy that becomes "theirs" for the eight weeks we raise the puppies.  So, here they are looking lovely in their shiny black & silver coats.

Buck - black & silver boy

We'll start things off with Buck.  Buck was named by JJ, age 7, because he likes white tail deer with large antlers.  Buck sports a white spot on his chest and white-tipped rear toes that helps differentiate him from his three brothers.

Bentley - black & silver boy
Then there's Bentley, who was named by 9-year-old CJ.  CJ chose Bentley from a list of names I rattled off because he "likes the way it sounds."  Bentley also has a white spot on his chest, but only one white-tipped toe in the back.

Holly - black & silver girl
Holly was named by our only daughter MJ, who is five.  MJ named Holly and Ivy for one of her favorite Christmas books - The Story of Holly & Ivy.  Both of Holly's back toes are white-tipped, which helps me tell her apart from her sister.

Ivy - black & silver girl
Ivy was named along with her sister, Holly, for the characters in The Story of Holly & Ivy.  Ivy has only one white-tipped back toe.

EJ, age 4, named Noah because one of his favorite Bible stories is Noah and the ark.

Scout - black & silver boy
AJ, age 10, chose the name Scout - a name with an adventurous ring!

That's our precious litter!  More updates will be coming on the blog.  For now, Sheerah and puppies are doing very well.

Happy New Year!
