There are money-saving tips, weight-loss tips, etc. out there, but this tip is a sanity-saving tip for new puppy owners! As things are quieting down here at the Russell Homestead as our puppies go to their new families, we know things are getting lively in some households that have a new, cute little black ball of fur bouncing around. This small tip helped us so much with both of our puppies.
When the puppy is in his/her crate and getting noisy - barking or whining - put a blanket over the crate leaving enough room to allow for some airflow to breathe. This typically will make the puppy feel safe as if he/she were in a den. Thus, it can have a calming effect on the puppy. Our dogs no longer need to be tucked in, but this simple thing helped us and the puppy have some relaxed, quiet time in those first few weeks. Enjoy those new puppies!

Sadie is doing very well and adjusted to our family in one day you would think she was here for ever - she came home well on her way to be potty trained. I would recommend the Russells for purchasing a puppy.A big thank you to Vanessa and Corby for the great job they did.
